The living breathing street

Mile End Road. Taken on the way back from an exhibition of photographs of the East End of London in the 1960s and 70s by local man David Granick.

looks to be a fascinating exhibition. How appropriate to be capturing the ordinary working scene on your way back. To me, though, it already looks almost dated - as though it could sit in the exhibition alongside the 60's and 70's images!

@helenhall Thanks Helen. Can you put your finger on what's making the shot look dated? That wasn't my intention so I'd be interested in your observations. I only use Lightroom, not Photoshop, so don't have a lot of scope for editing although there may well be features that I haven't found yet in the software.

It isn't the processing, but the style of architecture. The lack of ornament and utilitarianism that was of the day.

@helenhall Ah! Yes. I see what you mean. Thank you.
