Cabane a sucre Dessert- Tire-

The maple syrup is boiled longer so it becomes thicker and then it is poured onto the snow trays. You take your stick, pick up and roll, the hardening taffy into a ball. And Voila! Desert!
Yes! As I said earlier, I read about this in "Little House in the Big Woods." Laura Ingalls Wilder made it sound so delicious, and I've always been curious about it. She wrote when she was elderly, but her childhood memory of it was very vivid and deep.

When I was reading your description, I was thinking the same thing Jane wrote about. Looks luscious.

Oh yum! We insist on getting "real" maple syrup for our pancakes, no matter what the price, but it sure would be nice to try it fresh!
