Cabane a sucre. Bois- wood

Pile of wood to keep the sap cooking fires going.
That's a lot of wood! When I taught social studies, I used to tell the students, "Geography is everything." The culture, economy, and history of a place all stem from that--in this case--trees and woods--lots of it.

@cejaanderson The horses were important back in the day to haul the logs out of the bush. And there are a lot of trees, that is for sure.

@daweenie As well as dinners and the syrup for sale. Big business. There was a Maple syrup heist here in Quebec of the stored reserves. I will look it up and tell you how many liters were stolen. As well sometimes people come in the night to steal the buckets and the more modern facilities, cut the lines of competitors.

@cejaanderson @daweenieThe sticky fingered Maple syrup heist was in 2012 and it was a 20 to 30 million dollars theft of 16000 barrels of syrup. It was recovered in New Brunswick.
