@satinscape@cejaanderson@mbemis We have been going for 20 years about. The least Bittern is one of the most photographed birds. It was a photographers paradise. The water is very high this year, something has happened. There is a golf course but they are not allowed heavy pesticides, but something has happened. There is hardly anything here this year and last. There was everything in a marsh. It is such a pretty spot. Hopefully it will come back or they will figure out what is going wrong. I will post my Least Bittern from yesteryear. There were marsh wrens, a few green herons, a grebe, a moorhen, heard a Sora, a few tree swallows, lots of red winged blackbirds, 2 mallards.
@mbemis It is in fact very lovely. If you came with your sister i would bring you here. the park starts at the water, there is a beach and a wild area , then cross the road and walk along a small forest with lots of water and then into the marsh boardwalk, then two or three ways to go, forest, marsh, forest. So lovely Scarlet tanager, if you are lucky, winter Great horned owl, barred owl, and on a rare year a Great Grey and this year not at this park the snowy, which was still reported in June. What is bugging me is Daweenies White Ibis.
@cejaanderson The island of Montreal, Quebec. Close enough, brush up on your french girls. @mbemis Right now it is the jazz Festival and it is just too hot to go. Feels like 41 degrees but it is 32. I am not good with either extremes. I hear we have the greatest spread of temperature. Yes, you needs a passport bring Dweenie. too.
