On Friday, we went into Philly to spend the weekend. The Flagon and Trencher society was having its annual luncheon this year in Philly on Saturday - more in Saturday's posting. We looked at B&Bs in Philadelphia and decided to stay at the Thomas Bond House on S. 2nd http://www.thomasbondhousebandb.com/ Our room was on the fourth floor (only stairs). It is a great place and Gail & I will return there again. Best Viewed Large.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri, it is a beautiful place @grannysue Thank you Linda, and they were very helpful and friendly @peterdegraaff Thank you Peter, it is - the descendants of colonial tavern-keepers - Gail has an ancestor that ran an Ordinary in 1648 in New Haven, Connecticut @ruthmouch Thank you Ruth, it was a terrific place
@kimmistephens Thank you Kimmi, they have furnished it nicely @vernabeth Thank you Beth, it reminds me more of an old fashioned Inn rather than a BnB and we will stay here again @bruni Thank you Bruni, if you have the time (and we are retired) BnB's are much more interesting to stay in @marilyn Thank you Marilyn, the house was originally built in 1769 though they have updated the plumping :)
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie, wine and cheese at 5:30 and then freshly baked cookies with tea or decaf coffee at 8:00 pm @goodnouc Thank you Christine, we felt the same way only 45-50 minutes from home @pamfromcalgary Thank you Pam, it is inviting and we had a great time @laurentye Thank you Lauren, and one I highly recommend for about the same price as a center city hotel room.
