Mama isn't raising fools!

No fooling, this is how my 12-year-old spent the afternoon, brushing up on his Boy Scout skills. He's been practicing his knots and lashings so he will always be prepared.
Very nice!

That's the only way to master those skills

Good for him! My husband and his brothers were quite involved with Boy Scouts way back when- I know he feels he learned some great skills from them.

@danette @annika82 @lindasees @dide @swilde Thanks!
@linnypinny @skippysue He is my hyper focused kid. When he's learning something new, he doesn't give up until he learns it.
@lifepause Thanks. Hopefully, in a few years he'll make Eagle Scout. My older son is about to make Life Scout (the rank below Eagle), so he's not so far away, either. Very proud of them.
@digitalrn He loves all things Boy Scouts, so it's a labor of love for him.
@olivetreeann They have learned and done all kinds of stuff with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. They love it. My husband is currently taking NRA instructor classes to teach rifle and shotgun merit badges. He totally regrets dropping out of Boy Scouts as a kid. But he was in a bad troop and his parents never let him do anything with them.

My own son is now a Rover (age 17+ Scouting member in Canada). Two years ago he earned his Queen's Venturer award, and he also is a Chief Scout (Top award in Canada - I think like an Eagle Scout in the U.S.). There is so much to be learned in Scouting! Congrats to your son for his determination.
