I renewed my love affair with photography by completing several courses, joining a local photography club, and replacing my equipment. My interest in photography began with a Christmas gift of a Kodak Brownie camera at age 9. This curiosity evolved into a lifetime study, admittedly there were periods in my life when family and career displaced photography. Living in Golden BC in the early 1980's, lacking access to immediate film process services, I built a darkroom and photo printing facility in my home. Digital replaced film cameras and computers supersede a need for a darkroom. Today, living in Parksville BC, I enjoy creating photos of the many aspects of Vancouver Island life.

Through the study of light, I attempt to focus on simplicity and storytelling. At times, this is difficult particularly with moving wildlife where the setting takes priority. However, for the most part, my images remain simple and effective stories in light.
