Mars by humphreyhippo

A bit of unexpected clear sky tonight, so we had a go at Mars through my old ETX90 telescope.
This is an attempt at 'lucky imaging' - taking video and stacking the best frames.
After struggling to even find Mars in the scope, we took some video through a 5x barlow lens before the clouds (& forgetting to set up a dew heater) called time on the endeavour.
This is the best 10% stacked from a 28k frame video.

It's very small and more than a bit rubbish, but we can see the black band surface feature so I'm calling that a win. ;)
A picture we don't see often!
