Always interesting to look at other peoples bookcases! Unbelievable that Clem led the most revolutionary British government in my lifetime..shame he couldn't hold on to it. Be good to have leaders who appeared to show up in an 'empty taxi'!

current lot just want to be noticed so Churchill's the role model rather than Atlee. Don't think Atlee ever escaped his mid Victorian 'Britain is great 'public schooling , poured money he didn't have into the armed forces resulting in prolonged post wartime austerity into the 50's and election defeat !
