Helen Pollock (Auckland New Zealand) made this beautiful art work, Falls the Shadow. She mixed New Zealand clay with clay from the battlefields of Passchendaele to create a grove of hands reaching up. Many soldiers drowned in the waters of Ieper (Belgium) during the first World War (1914-1918)
You find this work in the Memorial Museum Passendaele 1917, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
Interesting and poignant.
