Woke up this morning to the news that David Bowie had died. The radio played his music all day and each song I heard evoked such strong memories, it was like the soundtrack of my life.
My first David Bowie album was Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, given to me by my uncle who was probably trying to introduce me to something other than the pop trash that I listened to in those days. Although maybe I didn't fully appreciate the album at the time, how glad I was that I kept it and started to listen to it more and more then when I could afford it, bought more of his music. My favourite album is Hunky Dory. Glad to say I've got that on vinyl too. Here they both are - thanks to my uncle for starting the journey and thanks to David Bowie for making the music.
