Perching on a rock by inthecloud5

Perching on a rock

It was a lovely sunny start to the day but by the time we got out for a walk in the afternoon it was looking rather stormy.

This is New Brighton lighthouse, built on Perch Rock at the mouth of the River Mersey, it marked the approach for Liverpool-bound shipping such as the great White Star Line or Cunard liners.
That came out beautiful, love the atmosphere of it all. FAV. Maybe not sooooo center though.

@gracefullyetched thanks for commenting. I agree, next time I'll go further out on the rocks for a different viewpoint!

Lovely shot, it brought back memories of childhood. I slipped on those rocks when I was about 9 years old and ended up with a lump on my forehead the size of an egg. Happy days :)

This is a majestic sight. Can't even imagine it with bigger waves.

@onewing ooh Babs that sounds painful, I guess these rocks are permanently slippery. I didn't want to venture too far out, my footwear wasn't up to the job!
