I saw this colourful sight on the promenade by the River Mersey as I was driving home this afternoon.
Thinking about something I read a few weeks ago about missed photo opportunities I decided to go back. I liked the contrast of the bright colours of the kite blowing in the breeze against the dark clouds.
The people who had tethered this one had a few kites flying and were sitting nearby having a picnic, great idea!
The chimneys on the far side of the river are at Stanlow in Ellesmere Port, which is the UK's second largest oil refinery producing fuel for jet and car engines.
I know what you mean about missed opportunities. Unfortunately it is not always possible to stop and go back, but then it niggles you for ages as it could have been the perfect shot!
