We're staying this week in Great Bernera, it's a small island connected by bridge to the Isle of Lewis and our cottage is quite literally at the end of the road. The houses you see here are on the opposite side of a loch on a small island accessible only by footbridge.
That mysterious abandoned croft house is over there too, no time for further investigations yet...
Riley the dog appeared just as I was taking the photo, he belongs to the people who own the cottage where we're staying. He's a lovely dog, he waits for us to come back when we've been out and rushes over to meet us like we've been here forever.
