Planet cauliflower

I've been well outside my comfort zone this week trying to come up with some photos for the camera club monthly competition on the theme of food. It's just not my thing!

I photographed this Romanesco cauliflower, moving the focus point each time and then stacked them in Photoshop. Never done anything like it before but it was an interesting process.

I liked it in colour and b&w but decided in the end to go for the b&w version.

So here it is, some texture for the current flash of red month.

Thanks for all your comments and favs on yesterday's flash of red phone boxes, I was really delighted to see it on pp and tp :)
This looks fabulous...almost like something from the sea. It looks great in B&W as well.

Who would have thought "cabbage"?? I thought it was a very strange shell. The focal points are clear - you can definitely count this as a success.

It looks like something from under the sea. Great effect with photostacking, never tried to do that but it works very well

As others have said, it does look like coral. Nice lighting that enhances the texture.
