Our last day in Yorkshire was spent on a birdwatching trip which was great fun. We went to the countryside and forests around Scarborough and saw lots of different birds including crossbills and goshawk which I'd never seen in the wild before. Then we ended up at the seaside looking at gulls and trying to identify all the different types.
The light was great so catching the birds in flight wasn't too hard. I'd never have thought of converting this kind of image to black and white but I quite like it. It reminds me of the illustrations in an old bird book of my uncle's that I've got. It must have been far more difficult to identify birds with only a black and white photograph to refer to!
