For years, I had a 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid mixer. A few years ago, it became obvious that 4.5 quarts of anything was not enough for this family so I switched to a huge mixing bowl and a hand mixer. The Kitchen Aid was used by my older girls for making cakes, brownies, etc. About 6 months ago it started acting funny and the beater needed a kick start to get going. It then worked great.....as long as you didn't actually put anything in the bowl to mix causing to stall.
After lots of research, review reading, and mixer lusting, I ordered myslef a new 7 quart Cuisinart mixer. It arrived this week....completely broken off of its base. I was soooooo disappointed. I kept looking at the empty space on my counter that I had gotten ready for it. It all looked so lonely. The husband came home, we boxed it up, and sent it back. I ordered a replacement and it was on my porch this morning.
