I started a tradition last year of opening a Christmas Store for my kids to "shop" for their siblings. I decorate my bedroom with lights and decorations and set out 10 different "displays" of things that I have bought and saved throughout the year that the kids can choose from. Gracie made signs this year so everyone knew who they were shopping for at each display. I brought up the Little Tikes shopping cart from the basement and the kids drew numbers from a santa hat. Then, one by one, they came into the room and shopped, picking out one present for each of their brothers and sisters. Then I sat with them and we talked and laughed as we wrapped each present. On Christmas morning, we all gather in my room and open the presents, one by one while enjoying conversation and donuts before going downstairs to see what santa left. It is a time I treasured with each of them and cannot wait to do it again.
