I thought I was delirious with fever this weekend when I wandered outside to call the kids in. Ok, so I didn't have a high fever... like, over 99 degrees ;), but I finally went to the Dr today and I do have what looks like strep but isn't, what is suspected to be a sinus infection that has moved into my jaw, and two ears very full of fluid. So I earned a fever credit. Whatever, I didn't feel good and was dizzy which is why it took me a few seconds to focus clearly on what I was seeing popping up out of the garden. We pulled about 10 of them. Freakish mutant carrots that have been growing through the winter... under the depths of freezing snow... as I was taking pictures, right above them, of freezing bubbles. And we pulled them the day after it snowed and hailed through the night. It's cool, though. I call first harvest of the year. My job in the gardens is done. ;)
Great capture of these renegade carrots! Have you tasted any of them yet? Hope you are feeling better. If you have a strep-type sore throat, you have all my sympathy.
@annied@deeganp@dgrynn@http365proj@teiko@khirsch@andreajoy@tristansmum - Thank you for all of the comments and well wishes. The kids ate the carrots and, so far, I have noticed any strange mutant powers developed from any of them. ;) My throat feels a bit better but my sinuses and ears are partying it up. I feel like I am living in a disco ball, spinning the world away. Tomorrow is my day, I am sure of it. :)
Get better soon. 😷
