Charolais cattle by jacqbb

Charolais cattle

we met during our morning walk. Such a cute face.
West Texas ranchers raise this type of cattle. They are beautiful, this one is a cutie.

What a cute face!
I recognize the blond coat as Charolais but I believe this little guy has another breed in his background as s/he has horns. Charolais are usually polled (no horns)

What wonderful textures and what a beautiful creature.

I liked your white-on-white capture. For your GP challenge how would you like to reverse it and do black-on-black? I tried that a while back and it has its own kind of difficulties. What do you think?

@farmreporter Most of his mates had no horns Wendy, but I’m no expert on cattle breed’s and I only guessed this was a charolais…. :)

@jacqbb You guessed right with the Charolais. S/he is probably close to purebred but an interesting genetic fact is that horns are the dominate gene so they sometimes come out many generations later out of polled (hornless) parents.
Rather neat!
