Alberta foothills

Wondering how I could get more contrast between snow and sky ...?
Love this! Do you use Lightroom or Photoshop? You could add a bit more blue or darken the sky a little with both of those. Although this monotone look is appealing too.

It's always tricky when the sky is cloudy and matches the snow. You could try using a warming filter, not that it will help with contrast, but it would give this a slightly warmer feel. This almost looks like a cut out, I can't tell?

@kiwichick it is a cut out! I have driven by it 1000 times on my trips to Fernie… And have never stopped! I was surprised at how “realistic” it actually was, Given that it is at least 30 feet tall if not more!
Do you use filters when shooting ski races on cloudy days?

@jand Right! I couldn't work out if it was your processing or it was really a cut out.
I don't use filters, however I often warm up the exposure a little in post processing. Especially the early morning or late afternoon shady spots (and on the face of Red you always get those!).

@kiwichick thanks Lesley ! I have a lot to learn about post processing… That will be part of my journey this year! :)
