Wiitch hazel 'hamamelis jelena' is one of my favorite early flowering shrubs. The flowers on this one are only just starting to open and this is the first bloom. It's cold and frozen today - here the little bud is thawing out.
The close focus is nice, separating out the background. Just a comment, and please take it constructively. If you could have just included the back bloom in the focus field, it would be fab! These macro focus shots are really hard. Just a few millimeters makes all the difference in this tight focus.
@pflaume@swguevin@frankhymus Thank you all. Frank, I greatly appreciate your taking the time to make suggestions. I am new to, and love macro - so this is a challenge. I am wondering if I use my tripod, I would be able to focus better on the shot than holding my camera still. Hopefully I will be able to post a clearer shot of that bud. :-)
