My faithful old fixed lens camera - I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love that until I can get a macro lens, it serves that purpose well. I hate that it gets the dreaded 'lens error, restart camera' whenever I have to zoom out quickly. Anyway - here it is after photographing some fruit.
It's funny, I thought that was an antique camera at first! Is the tripod really brass? It looks it, and then the lens-front of the camera looks vintage too. I love the bright background you gave it.
@pflaume - Well thanks - I was thinking my pics were no good tonight - you made me feel better. It will get better I think - we have spring coming soon (I hope). The next month will be hard - but then there will be lots of options I think (hope).
@anwan - Thanks Anwan - the background is an old handwoven rug I have hanging on my wall - I increased contrast to brighten it. The tripod is ancient - my hubby found it at some kind of swap meet two or three decades ago intending to use it for surveying equipment. It was stored in the shed and pulled out and cleaned up recently when I broke our other tripod. It was intended to be temporary but I love old things and really like it. It's not brass - I think maybe aluminum - or brushed metal of some kind. It's too heavy to take hiking. The camera is three years old. :-)
Oh, mine does that too - 'turn your camera off and on again" I expect we can be glad that some brain in there has worked out that what I have done is inexcusable! What a lovely tripod!
@maggiemae - Thanks Maggiemae. Is yours a Canon too? I usually have to take the batteries and memory card out and reload. Mostly. It started doing it after it got a bit damp last year. Have you noticed how it happens most when you finally get a bird or something in your sight and slowly zoom in - then beep - beep - lens error. Arrgh.
@steampowered - Thanks Paul. I wish it were a Gitzo. There is a sticker on it that says Condor - KINO-STATIV - made in Germany. It has a leveling light at the top which is handy.
@jankoos KINO-STATIV seems to mean that it is a heavy cinematic / photographic tripod (that is the best that Google can come up with. Condor is probably the model name but as to the manufacturer - that is anyone's guess!
@steampowered - Paul - yes - I googled it too and didn't come up with much - you found more than I did. Incidentally the label says 'Western Germany'. Have not seen that in a while!
lovely colors.. fun shot .. oh that 'error' would drive me dilly. My pc shuts off for no particular reason like that .. usually in the middle of a photo edit.. the stuff of grey hairs :-)
@suelaubscher - frustrating when things shut off for no reason! @chard - yes - I have a couple of old fuji's and a 35mm Olympus too. @bristolrose - Thanks Kathryn @gerry - THanks Gerry -
