After he died, I shipped them over from the UK. I do treasure them and keep them in a glass fronted case away from sunlight. @cathrinemitch :-)
@chard - well I think only the more affluent could buy books many years ago. I think they were were treasured, too. None of my old books has pages creased to mark a page like many I get from the library. They were treated better - but they were also beautifully bound. @pflaume - Thanks Lisa. I do, too. @sansjuan - Thanks Nita. I inherited my love of books from my dear dad, and passed it on to my son (@vitaminK). My hubby and his entire family are book people, too. I am always amazed when I go to visit friends who have no books - or very few.
