This is a native rose - we have planted stands of them at the base of a hillside on our property. They provide great habitat for birds, spring flowers and fall rosehips.
So lovely, I love seeing these around the country side. And I love the idea of having them around the property to attract the birds and for rosehips which I love.
@sansjuan @bristolrose - Thanks Nita and Kathryn - we plant a lot of native trees/shrubs/flowers - I try to keep the non-natives in my shrub and perennial borders but otherwise the property is pretty natural.
