I wasn't in time to capture the full majesty of this lenticular cloud. By the time I was able to pull over with a place where I had a view of the mountain, but space ship look of the cloud had already gone. I do like that you can see the size of the cloud in comparison to Mt Rainier.
Sorry for my continued lack of participation. What has been the worst month ever continues with the death of my dear father-in-law on Monday. My hubby has gone to be with his family and I am holding the fort down at home. Such a sad time.
Jan, I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Too much going on for you this month for sure. Keeping you in my thoughts. I like this image, I like space ship cloud and the one over the mountain too.
@nanalisarocks@sansjuan@cazla@chard@joemuli@swilde@maggiemae@carolnorman@grammyn@steampowered@dejongdd - thanks friends - we certainly have had things shaken up with so much change this month. My father-in-law was a really super kind, smart, sweet, gentleman - an old school fella - a father who taught his kids love, respect, the value of a good education. He lived a good life and had been struggling with Parkinson's Disease the past two years. We were lucky to have had him here for Christmas - he had such a lovely time.
@maggiemae - thank you Maggiemae. I appreciated the kind thoughts - so behind in commenting after this ghastly month but will catch up soon. My in-laws were married nearly 64 years - so lots of change for my mother-in-law.
When this is viewed large, one gets a better idea of the lenticular cloud. Details in the foreground are more easily seen too. Lovely capture even if you didn't quite get the cloud at its peak (no pun intended), I'm so very sorry about your father-in-law. This will be a hard time for everybody. Thinking of you.
So sorry to hear about your father-in law. I hope this month starts getting better for you, it is hard to keep up with this project when you have other things going on..
Hi Jan, so sorry I am so behind with commenting that I have only just seen this. Deepest sympathies at the loss of your father-in-law. He sounds such a lovely man. I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. 365 will be here to come back to when you at ready. Take care of yourselves xx
@andrina - Thank you Andrina! February was terrible and I have been a bit blue. I will be fine - March is here now and spring around the corner. I haven't been sleeping well, and haven't had much drive to take pics or be online. I am sure the first burst of sunshine will change that.
@willowdragon - thank you Al! Yes - February was terrible - our family had four life changing events including the loss of our beloved Huckleberry and then my father-in-law. I know you lost your wonderful mother, as well. Looking forward to spring, with flowers and sunshine - that will cheer us up!
@pflaume - Thank you Lisa! I love the lenticular clouds - was a bit late for the awesomeness of 20 mins previously - but I loved that I saw this when driving home from taking my husband to the airport.
@taffy - thanks Taffy - your kind thoughts much appreciated. Actually took my camera out with me today - was going to watch firefighters practice on an old house they were going to burn down but the high winds changed their plans.
@tristansmum - thanks for the kind words, Stephanie - I know you are recovering from your own loss. Looking forward to spring and new life - plants and fledgling birds will be everywhere before we know it!
Oh, Jan I am so sorry to hear that! I hate it is all cominhg at once for you!
Fabulous capture :)
