The Olde Post Office

After 32 years our local post office is closing -- making way for more apartments -- temporarily moving to the local mall (which itself is largely vacant and scheduled to be torn down in two years to make way for office and housing). Rolling adaptive reuse. This site today however seems forelorn

Sad thing when a Post Office closes, it is kind like part of the fabric of life is being destroyed. I like how you left the words just a tad out of focus which seems to symbolize the fading away of the institution itself. Fav!

I thought it looked kind of familiar. Then I read the sign on the building and figured it out. They've moved the post office to the mall for now. That's a nice photo. The black and white lends to the mood nicely, too.
