High Desert Scene

This weekend I refereed games at the AYSO Open Cup in Lancaster in the high desert -- 40 miles and a world apart from the valley. The games were great and the kids played hard but it was 105°F (40°C) when I got back to my car. Heading home . . . nothing but miles and miles of desolate landscape and Joshua Trees
