Did you consider cropping the cars out of the photo? The colors in the sky and lines of the palm trees are gorgeous but I find the cars a little distracting. Your choice Of composition with the trees on the right is terrific
@grammyn Good idea and I did look at that. I still wanted to capture the evening context at the seaside and thought the man and the cars added scale whereas the three trees alone might have been less interesting but it would definitely be a different picture. Thanks for looking at this a different way.
I like the cars, and especially the gentleman leaning on the hood of the car. A crop of just the trees (square?) would be interesting, too. But different.
@jaybutterfield some valid points that I hadn't considered. I guess I was just looking at it as more art than street scene. On second look with that different point of view I retract what I said earlier
@grammyn To me, away from home in California, I see this as the ubiquitous beach scene! @joysabin seems to see it as such also! A nice photo of "just the palms" would be lovely as well, but this, as it is, says Southern California to me!
