19/365: Twisted roll of kings

Today is a day to celebrate in company of family. Kids open gifts that Three kings had given last night ( as Santa does the same on the night of 24th of December). Also this day is popular the twisted roll of kings. Made of briox, cristallized fruit, filled with marzipan or cream. It has some little presents in its interior. Also it hides a broad bean. Who finds the bean, following popular tradition, must be the king of the celebration and wear its paper crown, or in other places, must pay the roll.
I'd never heard of this before, very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the photo and info. I had not heard of Roscón de Reyes before and had to look it up and read more. Saw that it is similar to the Kings Cake they make for Mardi Gras, which I have had before. Like the tradition with the straw in the shoes for the kids.
