International Workers Day

With the occasion of the celebration of May 1st, International Workers Day, people, adults and childs, accompained by their families or not, have taken to the streets for manifestate peacefully. Unions, retirees, public services, those affected by provisional downsizing planns, and many others. Everyone wanted to join their forces and manifest for a better social and employment conditions for everyone. Feel free to see more pictures in my Flickr's Album

Great street shot and with a message in it. We had a public holiday on May 1 but seems people preferred going to the beach because I saw Mellieha Bay very crowded.

@jbd1962 yes, there were many photographers from press to amateurs and participants off course ;)
@joansmor yes, I readed about "Labour Day" few time ago. Perhaps the first of May was chosen after the events Haymarket affair on Chicago, the 4th of May of 1864.
