When I photographed this from Key Bridge, I didn't notice that only 7 women are rowing this 8-person shell (plus the coxswain); the last seat has only a pair of shoes.
I brought my SLR camera on the bike ride to Georgetown Hospital this afternoon to photograph the pansies I noticed yesterday. On the way back, I saw the high school crew teams returning from practice. The wind rocked the bridge, but I still got some good shots. I had my macro lens for the pansies and was wishing for a zoom to shoot the boats.
Fantastic, opportunistic shot, Joan! Kinda makes you wonder how strong a rower they have in the stroke seat, but I would sure love to know the story behind this one!
