Tulip Magnolia Tree Reborn as a Bush by jbritt

Tulip Magnolia Tree Reborn as a Bush

I photographed my lovely Tulip Magnolia tree on April 3, 2009. The next day I was admiring its flowers and thinking it had the most bountiful blooms in years when it suddenly just blew over. I was heart-broken. We enjoyed its flowers filling out back yard for weeks before my husband started sawing its branches.

And then, green shoots started emerging from the 7 foot stump with several arms. It was not ready to die! My husband used a pulley to straighten the tree and it seems to be thriving now as a magnolia bush. Last year it had a few flowers, but this year you can hardly see the stump through the flowers. It is gorgeous!

The before photo (top left) was taken on Friday April 3, 2009.
The after photo (middle right) was taken on Saturday April 4, 2009.
The green bush photo (bottom left) was taken on July 31, 2009.
The blooming bush photo (bottom right) was taken on April 5, 2011.
The two flower close-ups were also taken on April 5, 2011.

This is my first collage with Photoshop.
Love the story and the collage! Beautiful Tree! Great job!
