After Thanksgiving break, I returned to my classroom and stepped into several inches of water. My classroom is on the second floor. A pipe burst and water was flowing in, then running down through the ceiling and into the classroom directly below. I was fortunate not to lose more than a couple of minor items for flood damage, and even more fortunate that the classroom two doors down was vacant (a teacher quit at the beginning of the year and with COVID they had a hiring freeze). Today - more than six weeks llater, they finally began working on repairing the room.
