Taken last year and edited today - the Weeping Window At Woodhorn Colliery - from the installation 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' which was featured at the Tower of London in Autumn 2014. The Woodhorn installation featured a smaller portion (but still several thousand) of the same handmade ceramic poppies. They cascaded 55 feet from the winding wheel of the heapstead. Each poppy represents a life lost.
Very impressive display. Haven't heard much of the 'poppies' being displayed around the country. I did get to see them at the Tower, such an amazing sight. Fav!! 😃
Thank you for your stunning visual reminder of all those who gave so much so that we now could have so much. Fav for bringing this to our minds. Thanks again.
Wow what a moving image. I saw the poppies at the Tower of London a couple of years ago, but I didn't realise that there were similar installations elsewhere
