Collecting Fireweed

The fireweed blossoms are used for syrups and jellies. This lady was surveying the roadside where they grow in abundance.

Wow I didn't know you could make syrup and jelly from fireweed! I saw some fireweed plants in Michigan a few summers ago -- wish I had known!
