Bunny Boots by jetr

Bunny Boots

Big, clunky, and unattractive, but we are always grateful for the insulation of our "Bunny Boots" !!
An absolute necessity for you!

does that mean they have rabbit fur inside them. I like the big ones with the zips and ties.at the top.

Good comp & processing on this one Joan. At my house we call those types of boots "GFB's" I won't spell it out but the first word is good and the last is boots. We only use the abbreviation when referring to them. :D

This certainly tells a story, well seen! I have a pair of Baffin boots myself, for cold, snowy, winter photography--but haven't had much occasion to use them so far this winter.

This is just the sort of practical detail; that wouldn't occur to me but is obviously essential for your daily comfort and well-being.

@dide @cruiser @novab @tristansmum @vignouse This is mostly for Chris - no, not rabbit fur! Actually, the only boots in my shot that are "Bunny Boots" are the two pair at the end. They can be white and the black pairs are apparently called Micky Mouse Boots, but I've personally never heard that. Anyway, FYI: From Wikipedia: "Bunny boots is the widely used nickname for the Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boots (Type II) used by the United States armed forces. The linerless bulbous boots retain warmth by sandwiching up to one inch of wool and felt insulation between two layers of rubber and are typically worn with one heavy wool sock. These boots were originally developed at the Navy Clothing and Textile Research Center in Natick, Massachusetts, US, for use during the Korean War. Originally designed for the military, such boots have become staple cold weather gear both in civilian work and recreational environments. Bunny boots are very popular in Alaska."
