Bush Life

We rarely get fresh produce up here and often there is no butter or eggs, so we found a "work around" in the form of freeze dried/dehydrated foods. This is only a small portion of our large inventory of backup supplies!
Incredible - things we who live close to supermarkets, farms and gardens have never seen before.

Incredible indeed. I like it, how you show us this things about bush life. I often think of you, and use all possible parts from the veggies and fruits, and use them wise. Not to mention eating them in time, and not let them rotten, just because it does not look as fresh, as the day before. The food waste in my part of the world is incredible high, what a shame.

This is definitely new to me: powdered butter! Though i imagine that we actually have such things embedded in mixes of various sorts.

Powdered butter. That sounds interesting Joan. Love to hear about your way of life it's so full of interest and great pictures as well.

Interesting collection of canned goods. It must require a great deal of planning to prepare for winter in a remote part of the world.

I agree with everything @mona65 said and I can imagine how exciting it must be when you do get fresh produce. I love your slice of life shots Joan, they are always so interesting.

Very interesting shot which expresses a fact of life where you are, Joan. Great pov and crop.

so interesting Joan to see what's in your pantry. Do you just mix the powdered butter into the receipe or can you rehydrate it and have it on toast!
