(Silly) Filler

Sitting at a restaurant in Anchorage and there's my village: Shungnak! We are north of the Arctic Circle over 1,000 miles from Anchorage. The whole population of the state of Alaska is only 736,000, so Anchorage is quite a metropolis for us!
Oh Joan, not silly at all. It is so nice to see this map, with the silver sun and your village. But I would also like to take a highlighter and mark all those names, where I have nice memories of. Thanks for sharing.

so interesting Joan and not silly at all. Alaska and the Arctic fascinate me being down at the opposite end of the globe.

This really does help me picture just how far north you really are - it's fascinating.

It's interesting to see some of the towns we visited while visiting our daughter and her family when they lived in Anchorage. Homer, Whittier, Seward, Eagle River (The home of the original Cold Stone), Wasilla, Palmer
