Simple Joys

Oh, the joys of fresh produce! Our little village store rarely has fresh fruits or vegetables, so we ship them at great expense from the larger store 150 miles away. Note that we are careful to ship only the sturdiest, longest-lasting sorts of produce as the contents often freeze en route and are bashed about quite a bit. Lots of soups and stews at our house!
Another really interesting scene of your everyday life in Alaska - things we take for granted.

Gosh Joan, I hadn't thought of all that. I could not live anywhere too far from fresh f&v.

A great image to remind us of those things we take for granted. Must be such a pleasure for you to get fresh goodies.

Great still life and a lesson to all of us to appreciate what we can obtain so easily!

reminds me of when we lived in Centreal Australia in the 70,s. 1000 miles from a big city, things came up by train but if it was delayed we all had to rely on powdered milk and tinned food.
