This is inside our arctic entry, called a "kunisuq"(pronounced kun-y-suk) and just a wee indication of what's waiting outside! The current temperature is -40F(-40C) with a -55F(-48C) windchill. "Aalapaa" !! (COLD!)
@padlock@moonmtn@yeri87@cathieg@seattlite@thistle@echomeier@cruiser Thanks everyone! It is truly cold right now. The little planes can't fly in and out of the villages and some of our teachers & students are stranded in other villages from school travel activities. And no, we don't touch those metal doorknobs! Heavy mittens didn't hep me this morning - my husband had to yank the frozen door open for me!
Good grief - I was thinking of you when the National Weather Service was telling the temperature today in Fairbanks - can't even think what that must feel like. Great way to show your weather today.
