I was at Citadel Hill National Historic Site today practicing with my wide angle lens, trying to not just 'get it all in' as an online tips article said not to do. Things that went wrong with this photo: forgetting to flip the lens back to AF when I put it on; my stupid bag on the stairs; underexposed kid; piss-poor session in photoshop to fix underexposed kid that I didn't feel like re-doing. But I like some things: the kid's horse sweater and glasses that had slid down to the end of his nose; the blue sky; that the snow is melting into the shape of Italy; that we have an Old Town Clock (c. 1803) that actually still works.

so critical:-) Obviously why your photos are so incredible! This is a great perspective - there's a feeling of power here that I really like...Empowered Child:-) I love it!
I think it's great! jerry maguire kid! LOL..... I agree, you are very critical of your work! This is just lovely! so many cool aspects to it, as you yourself have mentioned!!!! :-)
Yep, I'm fav'ing this too. I'd already come to that decision before reading your caption, so there's no hope of changing my mind on that. This is what wide angle's should be used for, awesome shots like this, instead of the meh landscapes I always seem to get with mine.
love the angle and pov. i'm still trying to figure out my wide angle - i want to love it but not sure if i do... this shot looks so much sharper than any of my wide angle shots and i love the awesome blue sky you've captured!
ooh yay, it let me view it large! I love the way clouds look with a wide angle lens. I like this! Wide angles sound like they're difficult to get used to.
