Before and Almost After. by jgoldrup

Before and Almost After.

Left: Sometime in 2010. Before myself and fellow 4-plex tenants were evicted from our Calgary castle, all of those top-floor windows were mine.

Right: May 2013. After some financing snags, the new condo development is well on its way. There are only a handful of $425K-499K townhomes left to sell in the new building.
Very cool

I will never understand living in an expensive condo, when you could get a house with a YARD for the same price. This is me basically saying I would not do well in a large city ;).

looks like it was a great place to live, doubt the new places have much character

@kidatheart ~ I like to live in places that are walkable/bikeable, and will likely never be able to afford a house with a yard in the non-'burbs...an inner city condo would be my only option. Not that I'm looking to buy, though - the prices insult me. ;)

@lbmcshutter ~ Likely no character, but the developer is at least very eco-conscious from what I've seen. Just a little too yuppie!

Are you getting a place in the new development? yeah a bit yuppie. I like apartment buildings but sometimes they feel claustrophobic. We're not big into them in the UK, we just live in nasty small houses.

@chewyteeth ~ Nope, this is in Calgary (my city of residence before Halifax). I prefer to live in small building too...even my current 8-plex feels a bit big considering I used to live in that old 4-plex castle.
