I won a prize in a photo contest. Why did I submit this one? Because the contest theme was diversity in Halifax. The 12 finalists will be shown at 4 different places around the city over the next 4 months. This is the first showing, at a cafe downtown. They did a horrible hanging job (I straightened mine). I've been told the 12 images will be made into a 2014 calendar. With the prize money, I've bought some little bits of camera gear: a blackrapid sling strap, a ballhead for my gorillapod, a replacement eyecup, a tiny padded home for my 50mm lens, and two memory cards. Yay free money!
