I went to watch the Bluenose Marathon participants at the ~3/4 mark of their journey. I was shocked and disappointed to see the lack of physical separation between the traffic and the runners on the route. Having to dodge cars while struggling to propel yourself forward isn't cool. And then I was enraged by an impatient man, stopped by a traffic cop, heckling some runners for walking as they crossed the street in front of his car. I heckled him back on their behalf. Running 32km (with 10 more to go) isn't easy, you ignorant arsehole. Oh, and look at that guy's calf muscles!
I'm currently situated in Victoria, having previously lived in Beijing, Halifax, Chilliwack, Calgary, Vancouver and growing up in Northwestern Ontario. My aim with photography is...
You go girl! People should celebrate the efforts of these runners! It really was poor planning not to have better oversight on the route...perhaps a detour or two... Thanks for standing up for these folks!
