Inverewe gardens by jmj

Inverewe gardens

Still on the west coast, today I went to visit Inverewe, a National Trust property and garden. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, plants prosper here and it's all beautifully maintained. An added bonus is that it's by the shore ... although today the strong winds from the sea were a bit troublesome.
Another beautiful place .......and too long since we were there too! Last time it was spring when we visited and it looks so different and green here.

@sarah19 I was very impressed today, Sallie. Last time I was here it was after the big storms and it was a scene of devastation.

@happypat Yes, quite a few tropical-looking flowers. And a palm or two.

How unusual - is it like a tier garden?

@jk62 Yes, it's built into the hillside, Judith - this is just the walled garden ... there are acres more of trees and shrubs etc. And a big house that's just been opened to the public.
