Ruby Spider Orchid by jodies

Ruby Spider Orchid

I had to brave the pouring rain to get this shot. I think I have the right name for it, correct me if I'm wrong.
I have no idea, but I am loving your orchid shots. They are such a favourite flower of mine, and you are showing ones I've never dreamed of! huge FAV

Just beautiful with the focus and framing you used. Love how the tendrils (if that is what they are called in orchids) carry me through the frame.

Exquisite. I have the Hoffman & Brown, "Orchids of south-west Australia" . It looks like their "Ruby Spider Orchid", and could be called Cherry in localised areas. I am only going on pics in a book, so could be wrong. Caladenia occidentalis, botanical name. You are soo lucky to see these amazing flowers.

@ethelperry Thanks Ethel, I think you are right, I was only looking on a site I found on the Internet to identify it. I looked up Ruby spider and I'd say that matches pretty well. I don't think I had seen this one before and it was lone plant, it's quite fun searching for these rare beauties.
