Preparing these home-grown veg for dinner at our friends' house caused some amusement.

I guessed these were home grown, I can't see them appearing in a supermarket. Brings back bad memories of a 70's TV show called 'That's Life', which seemed to specialise in showing deformed veg. But they do make a good photo.
