The sun burst out from behind the mountains at Parque Nacional El Tatio like a searchlight. We'd been up since 4 o'clock to go to see the steaming geysers before sunrise. On the Altiplano, this is the highest geyser field in the world at 4600 metres, and it was -6C when we arrived.
