Drunken Camera

What is it about me, trees, streetlamps & out-of-focus shots?

Well, I know you're not drunk, so maybe it is your camera. This looks like something alien is attacking the building and all is disorientation.

@cejaanderson Another busy day at work equated to no good photos. Again, this is an example of the best of the worst. A blurred shot that I ran through slight filtering in GIMP called "Oil"- supposedly creating an "Oil Painting" effect. However, I did not make any adjustments to its settings as it would have required reading the book & I really didn't want it to look like an oil painting, anyhow. Some might say, "This sucks- it's just a blurry shot." I cannot disagree. But I do think it kinda cool looking so I went with it. I am doing this to please only myself, so that's my rationale. ;-)

I re-read my comment, and I realized it might have sounded critical, which is exactly the opposite of what I intended. I'm so sorry, John. I follow you because you are an artist, and I know artists must please themselves first. Still, when your art causes a viewer to contemplate and try to interpret, that is another layer of art. This photo made me do just that, and I regard it as very successful.

I did not interpret your comments as critical. I did not think much of this shot while reviewing the day's shots.
I appreciate your referring to me as an artist. Thusfar, I really feel more like a bear cub driving nails with a monkey wrench.
Best thing so far about this interest in photography so far is the curiosity. I don't think I felt this curious about a new interest since I "discovered" Jazz in my twenties.
Again, thank you for ANY comments. It means someone is looking at it!
My 365 days are almost up! I gotta decide what I am going to do. Get an ACE membership? Change the guidelines under which I select my shots? I am leaning towards waiting until March 1st & beginning another year on a nice, even Start Date.
